Why is my stannah 600 stairlift not working?

If your stairlift is not working, referring to the fault codes can provide valuable insights into the potential issue. Here are some possible reasons based on common fault codes:

  1. Fault Code 1: Charging/Battery Fault:

    • Check if the wall switch is turned on to ensure the stairlift is receiving power.

    • Verify that there has not been a power cut or interruption in the electrical supply.

    • Ensure that the battery charger is connected properly and charging the batteries.

    • If the problem persists, contact your Stannah supplier for further assistance.

  2. Fault Code 2: No Faults Found, Normal Operation Mode:

    • This code indicates that no faults have been detected, and the stairlift is operating normally.

    • If the stairlift is not working despite displaying Code 2, consider checking other potential issues such as power supply, obstruction, or seat positioning.

  3. Fault Code 3: Obstruction Detected around the Footrest/Carriage:

    • Inspect the footrest and carriage area for any objects or obstructions that may be interfering with the stairlift's movement.

    • Remove any obstacles to allow the stairlift to operate smoothly.

  4. Fault Code 4: Power Key or On/Off Switch Issue:

    • Ensure that the power key is inserted correctly and securely in its designated slot.

    • Check that the on/off switch is in the "on" position.

    • If the problem persists, troubleshoot the power key or switch or contact your Stannah supplier for assistance.

  5. Fault Code 5: Downside Arm Not Lowered:

    • Confirm that the downside arm is fully lowered and securely locked in place.

    • Lower the downside arm to its proper position for safe operation.

  6. Fault Code 6: Immobilizer Seatbelt Not Fastened Correctly (Optional):

    • Verify that the immobilizer seatbelt, if equipped, is properly fastened and securely engaged.

    • Adjust and secure the seatbelt to ensure a proper fit.

  7. Fault Code 7: Seat Not in Traveling Position:

    • Swivel the seat back to its traveling position using the designated swivel levers.

    • Ensure that the seat is securely locked in place.

If you encounter a fault code that is not listed here or if the troubleshooting steps do not resolve the issue, consult the user manual provided by Stannah or contact your Stannah supplier or their customer support team for further assistance. They will be able to provide specific guidance based on the fault code and help you diagnose and address the problem with your stairlift.
